FALL 2017 Congratulations! You have been nominated by a teacher or Global Glimpse Alumni Ambassador based on your character and leadership potential. Becoming a Glimpser will allow you to develop skills that are integral to success in college
Congratulations!
You have been nominated by a teacher or Global Glimpse Alumni Ambassador based on your character and leadership potential. Becoming a Glimpser will allow you to develop skills that are integral to success in college and your career. Not all students are nominated for the Global Glimpse program!
Our mission is to empower America's next generation of leaders to think and act as responsible global citizens. We believe that we MUST prepare our next generation to be able and willing to engage in respectful dialogue with people from different viewpoints and backgrounds, work collaboratively and cooperatively to understand global issues, and initiate innovative solutions to complex problems. We design and deliver leadership training, global education and service learning experiences in the developing world. We are one of the only
- rganizations committed to making these transformational experiences
accessible to all US high school students regardless of socioeconomic status.
We want to see students give back to their communities, but also be better prepared for college and their careers. Through our program, Global Glimpse helps students understand and empathize with those from different and diverse backgrounds than their own in order to make a positive impact . Colleges and the workplace are eager to see their student body passionate about embracing their communities and world through understanding different cultures and perspectives.
“... the defining challenges of our time are shared challenges. The only way forward, the only way to solve these problems, is by working together. That’s why it is so important for more of our young people to live and study in each other’s countries.”
- Former First Lady Michelle Obama
Not a School-Sponsored Program: Global Glimpse is a private non-profit
- rganization, and, like many after-school and summer programs, it operates
independent of the schools that its participants attend. The GG Leader is a volunteer for Global Glimpse who supports coordinating some of the program elements during the school year and may chaperone a summer trip on behalf of Global Glimpse. Participant applications, payment processing, trip placements and trip logistics are managed directly by Global Glimpse and not the school our participants attend.

“Over the past 15 days, I have stepped out of my comfort zone and truly emerged myself in Nicaraguan culture. From taking bucket showers to kayaking for the first time, I have tried so many new things on this trip that I would have never
- done. All the stories I’ve heard, the sights I’ve seen,
and most importantly, the people I have met have all collectively made this trip life-changing. I am extremely grateful for having been given this
- pportunity to travel to Nicaragua and impact the
community here…”
- Patrick Romero, Bay Area, CA
