FPEF members code of conduct

Agent code of conduct includes the following:

  • Honest and lawful business practices
  • A written contract with each producer
  • Disclose fee structure and not make “secret

profits”

  • Act with care and due diligence
  • Transparent feedback regarding sales

accounts

  • Not pool prices without consent

Fixed price procurement code of conduct includes a written record including:

  • Description of product to be purchased
  • Place of delivery
  • Price and payment terms

Recommendations to Growers with respect to market access

  • Ensure that you have a signed contract with your export agent setting
  • ut key terms of your relationship (payment terms, commission, risk

transfer, pooling etc)

  • Ensure that your export agent is a FPEF member and know your rights as

a grower (FPEF code of conduct)

  • If you are unhappy with an exporter because you believe they are not

abiding by the stipulations in your contract with them or they are not adhering to FPEF’s code of conduct, talk to them and try and resolve the matter with them

  • If you have engaged with them and you still feel you are not being

treated fairly, you can contact FPEF and ask FPEF to assist in mediating
