European Ranger Federation Under the “umbrella” of the IRF – The European Ranger Federation was formed in May 2017 to network rangers across Europe.

ERF Achievements since May 2017 ➢ Established a Management Board (EEC) ➢ Secured registration as not-for-profit NGO ➢ Established Bank account ➢ Exploring funding options ➢ Produced ERF logo; badges and pins ➢ Website and Facebook pages ➢ 3 editions of e-Newsletter ➢ Supported new associations - Austria; Italy; Ireland; Serbia; Georgia; Albania; Israel and Malta ➢ Organised 3 Train-the-Trainer events ➢ Interpretation/JR (Switzerland) ➢ Twinning (Denmark) ➢ Anti-poaching (Israel)

ERF – current projects ➢ Developing a European Ranger Training Standard based on IUCN & IRF competences for rangers. ➢ Establishing a team of qualified trainers to offer various Ranger training modules to our members. ➢ Sourcing income for ERF through grants; sponsorship or other funding opportunities. ➢ Building a network of partners such as WWF, IUCN, European Wilderness; Greenpeace, EUROPARC…) ➢ Further expanding ERF to countries in Eastern & SE Europe eg. Latvia; Slovenia; Bosnia; Kosovo; Turkey; Greece....... ➢ Planning the 5th. European Ranger Congress (ERC)-May 2020 in Bavarian Forest NP.
