  • The evolution of the number of import interceptions in the last three years

demonstrate that the measures remain necessary for the protection of the Union territory from the specified organism and in order to allow for the appropriate time for its review

  • To ensure the specified fruits originating in Brazil are free from the specified
  • rganism, they should be subject to the same import inspection requirements

as the fruits originating in Argentina, South Africa and Uruguay.

  • The date of expiration of Decision (EU) 2016/715 should be postponed from

31 March 2019 to 31 March 2022.

 VERIFICATION OF EXPORT PACK HOUSES:

  • Planned during the course of 2019 (1 pager on standard basic requirements)

 VALENCIA AND LEMON RE-INSPECTIONS:

  • Late Valencia's 30 days plus 7 days ( possibly August 2019 depending on the perceived

risk)

  • 90 days re-inspections for lemons

 VALENCIA ORCHARDS PACKED IN OCTOBER 2018:

  • Should be withdrawn from export to the EU in 2019

 EXPORT OF LEMON SAMPLES BY AIRFREIGHT FOR MARKETING/ TESTING:

  • Procedure for lemons and limes
  • FCM affected citrus types will not be accommodated until further notice

  • CBS RMS for 2019
  • Ethephon test process 2019
  • Procedure for co-loading citrus of various treatments
  • Guideline for diverting fruit to the EU

 Ethephon Test Process on Valencias:

  • Sampling still by DAFF
  • Starts on the 10th April 2019 and Ends 30th June 2019
  • Seals will be provided by DAFF
  • Growers should buy sample bags, ethephon and Guazatine/ Propicure/ Propirly
  • Storage facilities should be registered through PPECB
