  7. 7 Title II-A Uses of Funds • Provide training and capacity building in selecting assessments and data to improve student achievement • Districts receiving Title II professional development funds must use the money to address the learning needs of all students including children with disabilities, English learners and gifted and talented students • Provide high quality personalized professional development that is evidence-based • Develop programs and activities that increase the ability of teachers to effectively teach children with disabilities and English language learners • Provide programs and activities to increase instruction in the early grades Whole Child Whole School Whole Community Whole Child Whole School Whole Community

  14. 14 Secular  Neutral Title II-A Funds may NOT be used to: • Pay for programs designed to support religious instruction • Used in any manner intended to advance or inhibit religion, or particular political views • Help teachers better evaluate students’ mastery of various religious precepts Whole Child Whole School Whole Community Whole Child Whole School Whole Community

  15. 15 Transferability of Funds ESSA allows 100% transferability of Title II-A funds Between Title II Title IV From Title II Title I • May not transfer funds out of Title I • State or district may transfer funds • May transfer only for current fiscal year Whole Child Whole School Whole Community Whole Child Whole School Whole Community
