EPD

Environmental product declaration

Definition from ISO 14025 / ISO FDIS 21930:

  • Type III environmental declaration (EPD) provides:
  • quantified environmental data using predetermined

parameters and.. additional environmental information.

  • The predetermined parameters are based on the ISO

14040 series of Life Cycle Assessment standards

  • The additional environmental information may be

quantitative or qualitative

EPD: an information management tool

  • Communicate environmental and technical information along the supply

chain

  • Give input to building assessments
  • Input to product development
  • Backup for communicating environmental performance to the market
