Opportunities: i) Diversion of reusable resources from waste: Creating an alternative flow of resources with multiple benefits: socially, culturally, financially, environmentally. ii) Design & innovation: Catalysing creativity that produces viable design solutions to avoid the accumulation of waste in landfill in New Zealand. Generating community resourcefulness, resilience and value of local resources. iii) Enterprise generation: Enabling enterprise to be generated via the making and trading of high quality outcomes using local resources. iv) Changing awareness: Showing that there is no waste, only resources that can be re-used or designed out to eliminate disposal.
