am very happy to have found this program to volunteer with. (Faubion LP)

Teachers say…
I saw students jump reading levels! My students, (prior to) participating in the literacy partner program had stayed on the same reading level for weeks. This was primarily because no one was reading with them at home, or their at home reading practice was sporadic. However, because of the additional reading practice, all of my students have improved. One student has improved 6 DRA levels!! (Rutledge Teacher)
Teachers say…
- Literacy partners don’t know the gift they’ve
given my children. Just being a good listener, a caring consistent person for each. I can’t thank them enough. (Deer Creek Teacher)
- I really think this program is such a great way to
boost a child’s reading habits and confidence. I am very thankful to have my literacy partner
- come. (Winkley Teacher)
98% feel their like their reading has gotten better because they read with a Literacy Partner/Reading Buddy 94% feel they would most likely want to work with a Literacy Partner (Reading Buddy) again next year

In August, go to www.education-connection.org and complete the Education Connection Registration form then… Complete the online application and background check to register as a District volunteer. (By law, this needs to be done each year.) Fall training will be in September. Be willing to make a weekly commitment to serving from October 2018- May 2019. Begin recruiting your friends, neighbors, and co-workers to join us!
