What is a typical day at ERHS? ✘ 6 classes each day ✘ Passing time between classes ✘ Several times for lunch depending on student schedule ✘ Some of your classes will be with other 9th grade students, but some will be mixed grades ✘ Raptor Time
How to plan for a great year!
✘ Try to find BALANCE ✘ Challenge yourself ✘ Work hard - GPA ✘ Be involved ✘ Ask questions ✘ Be your own advocate ✘ ATTEND Raptor Evening of Opportunity - January 7th at 6:00pm

Registration (choosing classes)
✘ ERHS is on a trimesters with 6 classes each day ✘ You will choose 18 classes and 5 alternate classes ✘ Your core classes will take up 11 or 12 spots ✘ Your elective classes will take up 6 or 7 spots
English
✘ English is all year and takes up 3 of your 18 choices ✘ You will choose from
✘ When deciding which class to take, consult your current teacher, handouts and the ERHS website
Math
✘ Math is all year and takes up 3 of your 18 choices ✘ The class you take depends on your 8th grade math class ✘ When deciding which class to take, consult your current teacher, handouts and the ERHS website
Science
✘ Science is all year and takes up 3 of your 18 choices ✘ You will choose
✘ When deciding which class to take, consult your current teacher, handouts and the ERHS website
Social Studies
✘ Social Studies is all year and takes up 2 or 3 of your 18 choices ✘ You will choose
✘ When deciding which class to take, consult your current teacher, handouts and the ERHS website ✘ If you choose Human Geography for 2 trimesters, you need to choose 7 electives
Other Requirements and Electives
✘ At this point, you have 6 or 7 spots available ✘ You are required to take 1 General Physical Education class in high school ✘ You are required to take 2 Fine Art classes in high school ✘ If you would like to take a world language - that will take up 3 spots ✘ If you would like to take music - that will take up 3 spots
World Language
✘ World Language is all year and takes up 3 of your 18 choices ✘ There is not a requirement to take a World Language to graduate from ERHS ✘ HOWEVER, most 4 year colleges want at least 2 consecutive years of the same language ✘ ERHS offers
Music
✘ Music (band, orchestra or choir) is all year and takes up 3 of your 18 choices ✘ Please talk with your current music teacher about the appropriate choice
Other Electives
✘ Depending on your choices, you will need to choose other electives
✘ You need to choose 5 alternate electives. Sometimes the electives you choose are not available or do not fit in your schedule. That is why we ask for alternate choices.

✘ Think carefully about course rigor and appropriate level choices ✘ Choose carefully! Courses can not be changed in the future ✘ Your teachers may change from trimester to trimester ✘ Keep in mind that you are requesting these classes. Elective choices are not guaranteed.

✘ Look at the ERHS website for registration information ✘ Look at the Program of Studies (on the ERHS website) ✘ Ask your current teachers ✘ Choose electives that YOU are interested in
✘ Take your packet home ✘ Talk with your parent(s)/guardian(s ✘ Look at the ERHS website to review this information. This pp will be available. ✘ Attend the Raptor Evening of Opportunity on January 7th at 6:00pm
✘ Decide on your courses and complete the orange Registration Card
