RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

 Generated revenue of $35.8 million and net income of $3.7 million, or $0.10 per share, for the three months ended September 30, 2016.  Continued growth of the Company’s operating fleet:

  • Delivery of one IMO2 25,000 DWT S-Class stainless steel chemical

tanker and one IMO2 49,000 DWT Interline-coated chemical tanker during the third quarter.

  • Delivery of two additional IMO2 25,000 DWT S-Class stainless steel

chemical tankers and one T-Class IMO2 49,000 DWT-Class vessel in October 2016.

  • 27 vessels of the Company’s 32-vessel newbuilding fleet had been

delivered as of November 10th, 2016.  Canceled newbuilding contracts for five IMO2 49,000 DWT chemical tankers.  Entered into a sale and leaseback transaction with SBI Holdings for two 25,000 DWT chemical tankers for net proceeds of $74.0 million.  Entered into $54.3 million secured loan facility to finance two remaining vessels under construction at Kitanihon.

(1) Time charter equivalent, or TCE revenue, a non-US GAAP measure, is vessel revenues less voyage expenses (including bunkers and port charges). TCE revenue is included herein because it is a standard shipping industry

performance measure used primarily to compare period-to-period changes in a shipping company’s performance irrespective of changes in the mix of charter types (i.e., spot charters, time charters, and pool charters), and it provides useful information to investors and management.

(2) Operating costs per day are routine operating expenses and comprise crewing, repairs and maintenance, insurance, stores lube oils, communication costs and technical management fees.
