The present water source for Altai city does not meet potable water standards. Water resources for the city are not sufficient to supply the current demand. In order to solve all these issues, the project proposed to bring water to Altai city from the reservoir of the existing Taishir Hydro-power plant by means of 45 to50 km long pipeline.
