26,000 clients and patients with support and emergency food

  • DOH-Sarasota sites provide WIC assistance to more than 5,000 women and children.

school events

  • DOH-Sarasota works in partnership with Sarasota County School nurses and Food and

Nutrition Services to assure no child who needs a meal is ever turned away

Partnerships can allow for more successful initiatives and interventions. In response to the Zika Virus, the department has partnered with Feeding America to distribute more than 500,000 units of insect repellent.
