Device Disinfection Challenges Staff & visitor devices - PowerPoint PPT Presentation

Device Disinfection Challenges Staff & visitor devices (smartphones, tablets, etc) pose environmental contamination risk Chemical solutions often damage sensitive touchscreens (and chemical cleaners are excluded from mobile device OEM

  1. Device Disinfection Challenges • Staff & visitor devices (smartphones, tablets, etc) pose environmental contamination risk • Chemical solutions often damage sensitive touchscreens (and chemical cleaners are excluded from mobile device OEM warranties) • Staff and visitors clean their hands, but then immediately touch dirty devices • Coordinating proper device disinfection with hand hygiene is a challenge

  2. Why CleanSlate UV Is Effective 360 o Reflective Chamber + Touch Free Removal + System Prompt to a UV-transparent Quartz Glass Tray Sanitize Hands Reinforces Hand Hygiene 3 rd Party Testing Done with Bio-matter Active Monitoring of UVC Bulbs to Present to Ensure High Kill Rates Even Ensure Reliable System Performance When Devices Aren’t Wiped Down.

  3. Proven Efficacy The CleanSlate has been tested via a 3 rd party EPA certified labs (MicroChem Laboratories) and will soon be featured in a peer-reviewed medical publication. We are the only countertop UV solution to prove efficacy using ASTM testing standards that include soiling/bio-matter (ie. Fingerprints) to simulate real-world use. % Reduction vs. Control Log Reduction vs. Control Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) >99.9991% >5.04 Clostridium difficile 99.93% >3.15 (ATCC 43598 endospores) Salmonella enterica >99.992% >4.12 Listeria monocytogenes >99.96% >3.42 E. coli O157:H7 99.987% 3.90

  4. CASE STUDY: CATHOLIC HEALTH NICU & OR Devices belonging to staff and visitors were identified as major disinfection gap that was undermining hand hygiene and staff/patient safety. Before CleanSlate After CleanSlate • 79% of all mobile devices tested positive • Immediate 100% reduction in presence for pathogenic bacteria of VRE, MRSA and other pathogens • Under 10% of staff routinely disinfected • Over 72% staff and visitor disinfection rate devices over eight week pilot

  5. CASE STUDY: YASHILI DAIRY CO. Facility recently implemented new tablet system, but found that mobile devices were creating a huge contamination risk. The pilot was facility-led, using 3M Aerobic Plates. After CleanSlate Before CleanSlate • Immediate 100% reduction in presence • 39% of all mobile devices tested positive of EB bacteria for deadly EB-family of bacteria. • 97% reduction in total bacterial counts • 48% of devices had other bacteria that was ‘too numerous to count’ (TNTC)

  6. ACADEMIC STUDY: Mt. Sinai Hospital Clinicians measured bacteria counts on 104 mobile phones in the SICU and ED. Discovering alarming rates of gram positive bacteria, the CleanSlate was successful in reducing counts to 0 in study. Before CleanSlate After CleanSlate • ~25% of all mobile devices tested • Immediate 100% reduction in presence positive for pathogenic bacteria of measured pathogens • Less than 10% of staff routinely disinfected • 87.5% of staff answered they were more likely devices to wash hands when using CleanSlate device Note: Study has been recently submitted for peer review. Please do not publish or discuss results publicly.

  7. Typical Deployment • Specifically designed to integrate into high-traffic hospital workflows. • The CleanSlate can be used by visitors and staff alike – no training required. • Often placed next to hand washing stations or hand sanitizers, so users can sanitize hands and devices. • Placed at department entrances, nursing stations, public entrances, OR staff areas, and more. • Can be placed on a table, desk, or optional stand.

  8. Technology Overview • Can sanitize 2-4 phones per cycle, 1 tablet or 6 voceras • Uses six (6) germicidal UV bulbs and a parabolic chamber • Chamber design and special UV glass ensures 360º sanitization without any metal mesh shadowing • Touch-free device retrieval and anti-microbial copper lid means no re-contamination of clean hands
