Device Disinfection Challenges

  • Staff & visitor devices (smartphones, tablets, etc) pose environmental contamination risk
  • Chemical solutions often damage sensitive touchscreens (and chemical cleaners are

excluded from mobile device OEM warranties)

  • Staff and visitors clean their hands, but then immediately touch dirty devices
  • Coordinating proper device disinfection with hand hygiene is a challenge

Why CleanSlate UV Is Effective

360o Reflective Chamber + a UV-transparent Quartz Glass Tray Active Monitoring of UVC Bulbs to Ensure Reliable System Performance 3rd Party Testing Done with Bio-matter Present to Ensure High Kill Rates Even When Devices Aren’t Wiped Down. Touch Free Removal + System Prompt to Sanitize Hands Reinforces Hand Hygiene

The CleanSlate has been tested via a 3rd party EPA certified labs (MicroChem Laboratories) and will soon be featured in a peer-reviewed medical publication. We are the only countertop UV solution to prove efficacy using ASTM testing standards that include soiling/bio-matter (ie. Fingerprints) to simulate real-world use.

Proven Efficacy

% Reduction vs. Control Log Reduction vs. Control Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) >99.9991% >5.04 Clostridium difficile (ATCC 43598 endospores) 99.93% >3.15 Salmonella enterica >99.992% >4.12 Listeria monocytogenes >99.96% >3.42

CASE STUDY: CATHOLIC HEALTH NICU & OR

Before CleanSlate

  • 79% of all mobile devices tested positive

for pathogenic bacteria

  • Under 10% of staff routinely disinfected

devices

After CleanSlate

  • Immediate 100% reduction in presence
  • f VRE, MRSA and other pathogens
  • Over 72% staff and visitor disinfection rate
  • ver eight week pilot

Devices belonging to staff and visitors were identified as major disinfection gap that was undermining hand hygiene and staff/patient safety.

CASE STUDY: YASHILI DAIRY CO.

Before CleanSlate

  • 39% of all mobile devices tested positive

for deadly EB-family of bacteria.

  • 48% of devices had other bacteria that

was ‘too numerous to count’ (TNTC)

After CleanSlate

  • Immediate 100% reduction in presence
  • f EB bacteria
  • 97% reduction in total bacterial counts

Facility recently implemented new tablet system, but found that mobile devices were creating a huge contamination risk. The pilot was facility-led, using 3M Aerobic Plates.

ACADEMIC STUDY: Mt. Sinai Hospital

Before CleanSlate

  • ~25% of all mobile devices tested

positive for pathogenic bacteria

  • Less than 10% of staff routinely disinfected

devices

After CleanSlate

  • Immediate 100% reduction in presence
  • f measured pathogens
  • 87.5% of staff answered they were more likely

to wash hands when using CleanSlate device

Clinicians measured bacteria counts on 104 mobile phones in the SICU and ED. Discovering alarming rates of gram positive bacteria, the CleanSlate was successful in reducing counts to 0 in study.

Note: Study has been recently submitted for peer review. Please do not publish or discuss results publicly.

Typical Deployment

  • Specifically designed to integrate into high-traffic

hospital workflows.

  • The CleanSlate can be used by visitors and staff alike –

no training required.

  • Often placed next to hand washing stations or hand

sanitizers, so users can sanitize hands and devices.

  • Placed at department entrances, nursing stations,

public entrances, OR staff areas, and more.

  • Can be placed on a table, desk, or optional stand.

Technology Overview

  • Can sanitize 2-4 phones per cycle, 1 tablet or 6 voceras
  • Uses six (6) germicidal UV bulbs and a parabolic chamber
  • Chamber design and special UV glass ensures 360º

sanitization without any metal mesh shadowing

  • Touch-free device retrieval and anti-microbial copper lid

means no re-contamination of clean hands
