  2.  P3 conducted interviews with Hamish a retired Nautical Engineer.  The S cottish Engineering S pecial Leaders Award “ If you were an engineer in S cotland, what would you do? ”  3 children received a Distinction Award.

  3.  I had no idea what this phrase was or why I would be using this in my classroom .  I interviewed engineers from apprentice, graduate, managerial positions , male, female and ethnic minority. This gave me a better understanding of EHOM. Inspiration: F AMIL Y and TEACHERS

  4. “If I give more thinking time, will this develop their questioning skills and allow children to be creative problem solvers? ”

  5.  Dr Janet Hanson’s workshop on How to cultivate any habit prepared me for how I was going to conduct my Action Research.  Bill Lucas’s workshop gave me an insight into EHOM and how I could use these in my classroom. Bill also helped me focus my Action Research question.  EHOM and teaching Engineering fits in perfectly with Curriculum for Excellence it provides perfect opportunities for cross curricular learning.

  6.  P6 conducted interviews with Hannah Gee and Michael McCree Graduate engineers from Rolls Royce.  Throughout the school we embraced our Engineering S kills and developed our EHOM.  We designed Bridges, Towers, Ramps, Welly Holders, Tinkering;S crap Material and Primary Engineer Vehicle proj ects.  Evaluation:  S tickers: I am a Good Engineer because… … …  Questionnaires and Evaluations  Learning logs and Learning conversations  Photo’s and Post it notes.

  7.  I have now carried out the Primary Engineer vehicle proj ect with 4 classes.  The whole school has entered The S cottish Engineering S pecial Leaders Award.  I have created Partnership with Rolls Royce, Graduate Engineer one afternoon a week; EVER Y WEEK! Engineer fully involved in S TEM week; he presented at S TEM assembly, conducted workshops and interviews across all stages including LCR.  P6 visited Rolls Royce Plant.  Primary Engineer and EHOM embedded into our progression framework for Technologies.
