#2 – vv.3-4 & 20 – 539BC – Prophecy of the Medo-Persian reign. #2.1 – v.3a – It was a ram with two horns. #2.2 – v.3b – The horns were high. #2.3 – v.3c – One horn was higher than the other and came up last. #2.4 – v.4a – The ram pushed in 3 directions. #2.5 – v.4b – He did as he wished according to his will.

#3 – vv.5-8 & 21-22 – 331BC – Prophecy of the coming Grecian reign. #3.1 – v.5a – A sudden appearance of a male goat from the west… amazingly swift over the earth. #3.2 – v.5b – He had a notable horn between his eyes. #3.3 – vv.6-7 – He came at the ram with furious power & at the horns and couldn’t be stopped. #3.4 – v.8a – The male goat grew very great. #3.5 – v.8b – The large horn was broken. #3.6 – v.8c – 4 notable one came up toward the 4 winds of heaven.

#4 – vv.9-14 – 171BC – Prophecy of a coming ruler out of the Grecian empire (Antiochus Epiphanes IV). #4.1 – v.9a – This ruler comes out of the 4 generals of Greece (Seleucus). #4.2 – v.9b – This horn would grow exceeding great towards the south, east, and the Glorious Land. #4.3 – v.10 – This horn grew up to the host of heaven and cast down some. #4.4 – v.11a – He would even exalt himself as equal to the Prince of the host. #4.5 – v.11b – He would take away the daily sacrifices at the temple #4.6 – vv.11c-12 – He would even cast down God’s sanctuary and do great evil. #4.7 – v.13 – Angelic beings spoke about this person. #4.8 – v.14 – They told Daniel how long this would last.
