What do I need to Graduate?

NYS Education Department has developed Pathway options in the areas of: Arts, CTE, Humanities, LOTE, and STEM. Should a student need to graduate using a Pathway, his/her counselor will work with the student to develop the appropriate plan for graduation. Students can earn either a Regents or Local Diploma through an “Appeal” by scoring 64-60 on 1 Regents Exam for a Regents Diploma

  • r scoring 64-60 on 2 Regents Exam for a Local Diploma. Counselors will discuss this option with students should it be needed.

Transcripts and Credits

AP stands for Advanced Placement

AP courses are college level courses taught in high school, followed by an exam in May

DUAL CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES

Dual credit courses allow students to take courses at New Hartford while offering them the

  • pportunity to also earn college credits. We currently offer dual credit opportunities through 3

colleges -- MVCC, SUNY Albany, and RIT. Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) We currently have 8 courses that have dual credit through MVCC. At this time there is no tuition charge from MVCC to earn the credits. MVCC is in the process of changing its Dual- Credit program. We will update information on our website as it becomes available. * Algebra 2 & Trig Topics

SUNY Albany Qualifying students taking Latin 4 and Latin 5 can earn credit through SUNY Albany. Students must complete a SUNY registration form and pay SUNY at the beginning of the course.
