Why are we doing this testing?

  • Most experts believe individuals can transmit the virus

before they have symptoms

  • The earlier we can find infected people, the better job we

can do to prevent a significant outbreak within our community

  • Establish a baseline for further monitoring and evaluation
  • Use the test to help plan for a safer visit to family and

friends

Logistics

At testing site, please follow medical personnel instructions. They need:

  • Your name, date of birth, physical address, phone number

and primary care provider/doctor name

  • Symptoms
  • Parent/Guardians of children under 18 will have to sign a

consent form (Download form ahead of time at Carbonalert.com)

Logistics

They will:

  • Hand you a testing swab
  • Instruct you to swab the inside of your nose with the swab
  • Have you place the swab in the testing vial
  • Repeat this procedure for all individuals in the car to be

tested

  • Results back in 2-5 days
  • You will be contacted if your test is positive for

confirmatory testing

  • If you are not contacted, assume the test is negative
  • Personal information is collected by Public Health for

follow-up purposes only
