  8. What is Zero Waste?  Upfront material management and planning approaches which emphasize waste prevention as opposed to end-of-pipe waste management. Encompasses more than eliminating waste through recycling and reuse, it  focuses on restructuring production and distribution systems to avoid waste creation  A philosophy that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all products are reused in a process is similar to the way that resources are reused in nature.  Pushes for a Cradle-to-Cradle lifecycle – where materials or products are recycled / reused into new material or product at the end of its life, generating no waste. 24. Change Management: What do you do with the waste that piles up on your desk? A member of the Knorr-Bremse Group │22

  25. Change Management: Have some waste from lunch? Don’t just close it up! Centralized waste areas are located in every department for convenience of throwing out waste– but make sure items go in the correct bin. By minimizing plastic wrapped items and using compostable or reusable materials most waste from your lunch can be composted! A member of the Knorr-Bremse Group │23

  26. Change Management: Keep a set of your own reusable utensils at your desk! By reusing utensils we reduce our amount of waste. Plus, you no longer have to worry about forgetting to grab utensils from the Bistro! Use your reusable utensils even when you plan to eat at the Bistro – try keeping them at the entrance of the desk to help you remember them. A member of the Knorr-Bremse Group │24

  27. Change Management: Keep a reusable water bottle and mug! Have paper coffee cups on your desk? Maybe multiple water bottles? Keep a reusable mug and water bottle to keep clutter clear and reduce your consumption of wasteful single-use items! A member of the Knorr-Bremse Group │25

  28. Change Management: Have some scrap paper you are ready to recycle? Until you can step away to recycle your papers, keep your desk clear by having labeled file folders with scrap paper! You can even separate between paper you might use to write notes on later and what is fully used and ready to recycle – try color coding! A member of the Knorr-Bremse Group │26
