Objectives of the Resolution

The Town’s aim throughout the appeal process has been to:

  • Residents have made it

known to Council and Staff that the Environmental Protection (EP) zoning over their private property is restrictive and cumbersome

  • The Town is committed to

having its ZBL conform to upper-tier legislation, and is also committed to continuing to protect the environment and key natural heritage features

  • The Town is committed to

clarity and transparency, and wants to make landowners aware of all land use regulations on their property, above and beyond just the ZBL (such as from the Province, Region, and LSRCA)

Maintain commitment to environmental stewardship Promote clarity of land use regulations
