Conference and other interviews that a student might have. This a great professional development event to allow student to improve on their interviewing skills.

addition, we will present a PPT giving new students tips for studying and living in USD. This meeting will give new students an opportunity to make new friends. Our goal is to help Chinese students blend in the big family.

International Buddy Program

  • Event name: Day at the Bay Buddy Matching Event
  • Description: This is the first event of our organization. It is designed for our members to meet their

buddies for the first time. IBP events are designed to guide our members, especially international member, explore American culture during events based on local San Diego attractions. The event will be happening on the Mission Bay, where students spend time together out on the beach or use the kayaks and paddle boards. We will be providing a light lunch and beach snack for the members. The objective of this event, and our club, is to provide USD’s foreign exchange students with a USD domestic student who serves as a resource during this transition to San

  • Diego. Essentially, this person is there to help them do things such as figure out office

hours and other school related questions, practice English, learn some of the San Diegan culture, and build global connections. The goal of the event is not primarily social in nature but rather to bring about cultural awareness, ease the hardships of moving to another country, and promote connections between people from different backgrounds.
