Party goers were prompted to #CREATEOURFUTURE by expressing themselves in virtual reality, augmenting 3D self-

  • portraits. The results were then displayed in a massive

gallery via projection mapping which doubled as visuals for performing artists Phantogram and Remy Banks..

2D

Students interface with physical mannequins

  • r with controlled robotics in clinical

simulation labs (skills and procedures, OR, ICU, etc).

PHYSICAL & ROBOTICS

AR

Students interface with an enhanced version

  • f reality created by the use of technology to

add digital information on an image of physical objects.

AUGMENTED REALITY

VR

Students are immersed in purely real-world content (360), purely synthetic content (digital) or a hybrid of both (MR)

VIRTUAL REALITY

Supporting technology: customized database, virtual reality application layer, machine-learning patient simulation, and integration with a clinical placement software solution

VIRTUAL REALITY EXPOSURE THERAPY TO HELP RELIEF PTS

University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies virtual reality exposure therapy is aimed at providing relief from post-traumatic stress. Currently found at over 60 sites, including VA hospitals, military bases and university centers, ICT’s Virtual Iraq/Afghanistan exposure therapy approach has been shown to produce a meaningful reduction in PTS symptoms.

WHY?

PROBLEMS:

  • Limited clinical exposure and lack of skill for in demand nursing specialties
  • Clinical placement competition, especially acute care
  • Nursing faculty shortage
  • Community and regional specific needs
  • Opportunities for cross-disciplinary pollination
