• Create an Account
• Call 1-866-NEW-ELEC (1-866-639-3532)
• Establish or Verify Your Account
• TaxID (Commercial).
• Visit the ComEd New Business Website ComEd/Newbusiness
• Service and Meter Application Service Application
• Complete and Submit Service Application
• Please work with a licensed electrical professional to

complete your application.

• Preferred Method: Enter info directly into New Business

Portal

• Alternative Method: You may mail your completed pdf

application to ServiceApplications@ComEd.com

• Transformer Sizing Tool – Determine TR size.
• ComEd Representative Assigned

Preparing for the Site Visit

The Follow ing Documents Will Be Required:

• Plat of survey with legal description of property (for easement, if required)
• Site plan showing building relative to property lines – mark service entrance

location(s)

• Civil drawings (showing water, sewer, gas, phone, electric, pavement,

grading, etc.)

• Complete electrical drawings and/or load detail sheet.
• IF ENGINEERING FIRM IS LOCATED OUTSIDE OF ILLINOIS, PROCURE

ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO SITE VISIT & SCHEDULE A WALK-DOWN IMMEDIATELY
