  2. San Mateo County Multimodal/Parallel Trail Goal : To enhance safety, meet local mobility needs and connect regional trails, providing an alternative means of transportation to neighboring communities, town centers, schools and recreation destinations without having to travel on Highway 1

  4. Gray Whale Cove Proje ject • Enhance safety by providing marked, signed and lighted crosswalk from Gray Whale Cove State Beach and the parking lot located on the east side of Highway 1 • Improve traffic safety by providing storage area for left turn movements in and out of the parking lot

  5. Key Project Elements • Lighted pedestrian crosswalk • Additional pedestrian signage • Center left-turn lane & acceleration lane • Painted Median • Formalized entrance to parking lot Gray Whale Cove
