  7. Permits • Residential Permits Topped 250 in 2017 • 153 in 2018, 133 SF through end of April – pace is 3 rd highest ever, highest since 2005 • 243 Commercial permits in 2017 – 6 th year in a row over 200. 2018 on pace to make it a 7 th year.

  8. Single-Family Permits • 220 in 2017 • Low last 10 years 88 (2008) • Peak 487 (2003) • 10 yr. avg. ~200

  9. Inspections Includes building and zoning inspections related to construction activity such as: foundations, framing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, insulation, roofing, sprinklers, etc. • Residential: 6063 • Commercial: 1410 • Other: 2,263 • Total: 9,736 • Highest since 2005

  10. Code Enforcement Includes: trash and rubbish, Weeds and grass; property maintenance, signs in right-of-way; junk and inoperable cars; tenant landlord fair-housing disputes • 2017: 1,772 actions • Signs in right-of-way: 628 • Trash-rubbish: 391 • Zoning: 321 • Weeds and grass: 247

  11. Grants • Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) – Repaving, sidewalks, Fair Housing program • Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program (CHIP) – city and county are partners; tenant-based rental assistance, emergency repairs, Habitat for Humanity houses • Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) – Economic development, Downtown Façade Program, wayfinding, Blighted property demolition, program administration
