TOWN TWINNING IS MORE THAN THE CURRENT PERCEPTION

While projects by Town Twinning Committees are an important part of the programme, there is so much more unexploited potential. Town Twinning can be used as an opportunity for any non- profit organisation to invite EU visitors over for a series of

  • events. The funding is small so it is ideal for festivals, that

would be running events anyway, or for organisations looking to build a European network to pave the way for bigger, more ambitious projects.

SLIDE 12

THE BARE BONES OF IT…

What is it? A minimum of 25 European visitors from at least one other EU country are hosted in the applicant town for a minimum of 3 days. Who is it for? Any non-profit making entity can apply with a letter from their local authority. What will it fund? Activities in line with the programme priorities

SLIDE 13

PRIORITIES

  • Debating the future of Europe and challenging

Euroscepticism

  • Promoting solidarity in times of crisis
  • Fostering intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding

and combating stigmatisation of migrants and minority groups
