GATSBY BENCHMARKS 5 AND 6 Careers Day- Employment workshops, letters of application and judging team work skills in balloon tower making Careers Speed Networking- using his contacts to encourage local businesses to take part in a Year 8 event Advice – regular meetings, contacts and encouragement
For the last two years Ed has given up his day to help with Careers Day at the school. A carousal of events including the application process, what employers want, Dragons Den, curiosity museum and Jacobs’ Engineering Ed gave up time in his day to work with the groups and helped encourage other business
On Wednesday this week, Year 8 students took part in a new event at the
companies and organisations. The students asked questions about the different jobs, what people did, what qualifications they needed, even how much they could earn! The students were brilliant and were praised by all the visitors. Nick Henstock from Montgomery Waters comment summed it up "If they are the future we are in safe hands"
The school would like to thank the following businesses and
two hours non stop.
