  4. 4 Purpose To inform and consult with the residents, businesses and community representatives that are adjacent to Chemainus Road Corridor between Henry Road and Victoria Street regarding the installation of infrastructure and road upgrades to Chemainus Rd and the River Rd and Chemainus Rd roundabout.

  5. 5 Chemainus Town Centre Revitalization Plan 5 Key Project Areas One of these areas was 1 Streets and Lanes Under this area, Chemainus Rd 2 identified as key road to improve Implementation Plan (part 4) for 3 Chemainus Rd improvement called for: Sewer, water and drainage replacement • Lane width limited to prioritize pedestrians • and bicycles Street trees for traffic calming • River Road and Victoria St roundabout • Road improvement project for gateway • corridor into Chemainus

  6. 6 Location • Corridor Upgrade along Chemainus Road between Henry Rd. and Victoria St. • Chemainus Road is the transportation spine for pedestrian and cyclists Planned roundabout • The roundabout at River Rd. and Chemainus Rd. is under design. • The intersection of Victoria St. and Chemainus Rd. is under study.   13. 13 Traffic and Pedestrian Management during Construction • Single lane alternating traffic • Expect delays • Flaggers on site to direct traffic and pedestrians

  14. 14 Traffic and Pedestrian Management during Construction • Possible pedestrian detour route via CVRD Trail next to the railway • Local traffic will have access to residential and business driveways at all times. • Contractor will provide Traffic Management Plan
