Introduction

  • What is the Project?

– A handicap accessible walkway from the Sanctuary to the entrance area of the Meeting House

  • Why are we doing this Project?

– To provide a more convenient ADA compliant access way to the Meeting House without having to negotiate two sets of steps and a narrow doorway

What’s Involved in the Project?

  • A new 3 foot wide doorway opening on the

west side (Lakeside) of the Pulpit.

  • A wider hallway and gradual ramp (ADA

compliant) up to the Meeting House entrance area

  • An architecturally pleasing matching faux

doorway on the east side of the Pulpit

– Make handicap accessible – Convert into a Uni-Sex facility – New ADA compliant fixtures, lavatory, increase doorway to 3 foot width, add changing table, reconfigure and remove partitions to include one toilet

– Flooring in this area is old and deteriorating – Replacement flooring would tie into the Pass Through work so this would be all new construction

– Make handicap accessible with ADA compliant ramp – Enlarge door to 3 foot width – Construct outside portico to facilitate drop offs, wheel chair unloading, etc.

  • Trustees have been working with several

contractors to determine budgetary pricing for these projects

  • We have received several responsive

estimates from contractors

  • Project could be done in phases or all at once
