  • Many of the career-, entrepreneurship- and project courses are
  • rganized in EduFutura collaboration

› In practice, this means that JYU students have access to the courses of JAMK University of Applied Sciences and Gradia through EduFutura – collaboration and vice versa. › The variety of courses taught in English is still limited, but we are working on it

  • StartUp Factory; an in-house company (owned by the City of JKL,

  • Idea to Business -preincubation in Jyväskylä StartUp Factory, you will develop your

business idea with our expert coaches.

  • Aim of the course is to develop and improve the feasibility of your business idea.
  • Idea to Business -preincubation is a workshop-based course - if you need personal and

idea-based coaching, just ask.

  • Participants and their ideas have a key role in the course, and the content of the course is

What is FORTHEM?

  • FORTHEM Alliance enhances the mobility of students and staff members,

cooperation with university-external stakeholders as well as the civic activity of students.

  • The University of Jyväskylä takes part in an international consortium

project FORTHEM (Fostering Outreach within European Regions, Transnational Higher Education and Mobility; 2019–2022).

  • FORTHEM is a part of the European Universities Initiative, funded by the

European Commission. The project proposal was approved within the first call for proposals in 2019. More information about the European Universities

  • FORTHEM alliance is coordinated by Johannes Gutenberg Universität

Mainz in Germany. FORTHEM is an alliance of seven multidisciplinary universities in seven EU-countries, based on existing multi-disciplinary, bilateral and trilateral collaborations and both shared and complementary expertise.

FORTHEM Civic Engagement Projects

  • We seek student associations, students and student teams to network in a

project which includes at least 3 different universities within FORTHEM alliance

  • The project is given 500 euros when accepted as part of the program

Additionally, 8 persons are eligible for funding for 2 times* 4 nights within a project to meet other project participants and plan & conduct the project

  • Project should be finished within 6 months from the start
  • In FORTHEM alliance until 2022, 3 calls of Civic Engagement projects will be
  • pened, and the total of 15 projects will be funded (2/6/7).
  • Central idea is to solve Civic engagement -based challenges that have been

found to unite different actors within FORTHEM alliance universities to help NGO:s and/or to solve SDG:s

REALIZE - relieving expert shortage by attracting international skilled workers and developing employer's recruitment practices

REALIZE project aims to:
