Planning Condition - Site Noise Limits

Condition 32 Noise emitted from operations on the site shall not result in noise levels greater than those listed below, except when temporary

  • perations are taking place.

Brooms Farm 55dB LAeq, 1Hr (free field) Pont Road 55dB LAeq, 1Hr (free field) Douglas Terrace 50dB LAeq, 1Hr (free field)

Noise conditions continued

Condition 33 During periods of temporary operations (soil stripping, the construction and removal of baffle mounds, soil storage mounds and spoil heaps, construction of new permanent landforms and aspects of site road construction and maintenance) the Noise Monitoring Scheme shall provide that the noise emitted from

  • perations on the site shall not result in noise levels greater than

70dB LAeq, 1Hr (freefield) as measured at Brooms Farm, Pont Road and Douglas Terrace. The duration of such activities shall not exceed 8 weeks in relation to each of the respective noise monitoring properties in any 12 month period.

DATE TIME TOTAL AMBIENT SOUND LEVEL LAeq dB NORMAL OPERATIONS LAeq dB (derived level) COMMENTS 28/09/2018 10.31 57.8 52.9 This is the total ambient sound level at this location. Road traffic noise was clearly audible at this location. Th PC300 lifting subsoil and loading into RDT was audible at this location. 28/09/2018 12.32 56.1 This is the residual sound level without operations from the site. This measurement was undertaken during a lunchtime period when all machinery was inactive. Given the proximity of site activity, a logarithmic equation was applied using this and the reading taken at 10:31 to derive at a site contribution to the noise level. 30/10/2018 14.00 61.3 Road traffic noise is the dominant noise source. The PC3000 is also audible between traffic movements

  • n the road and is lifting Subsoil and loading into RDT. Increased road noise due to damp road surface.

05/11/2018 12.36 57.3 Road traffic noise was considered to be the dominant noise source. The PC3000 was also audible at this location. 19/11/2018 12.50 60.9 Road traffic noise was considered to be the dominant noise source at this location. An Ambulance siren was audible at the beginning of the measurement. Plant working on site was also audible.

17 DATE TIME TOTAL AMBIENT SOUND LEVEL LAeq dB NORMAL OPERATIONS LAeq dB COMMENTS 28/09/2018 09.41 50.6 Road traffic noise was the dominant noise source over the course of the measurement. Noise from the tracks on the D6 were noted during periods of low traffic with other operations being audible but not distinct. 30/10/2018 15.34 53.1 Road traffic noise was considered to be the dominant noise source, which was increased due to the road surface being wet, however during periods with reduced traffic flow the site was

  • audible. Tracks from the D9 were audible along with the engines from articulated dump

trucks. 05/11/2018 12.10 50.9 Road traffic noise was considered to be the dominant noise source with some noise from the site being audible during periods of reduced traffic. Engine noise was audible and the tracks

  • f the dozers were distinct but not intrusive.

19/11/2018 14.10 52.7 Road traffic noise was considered to be the dominant noise source. Noise from plant on site was also audible at this location.

  • location. Noise from chickens in Douglas Terrace was also audible. Some noise from the overhead

power lines was audible. 28/09/2018 12.00 41.4 Road traffic noise from the A692 was audible. Noise from the chickens at Douglas terrace was audible throughout the measurement. 2 planes flying over head were noted during the measurement. This measurement was undertaken during a lunch time period when all plant was inactive. 30/10/2018 14:51 39.8 Due to rain showers it was only possible to monitor for 8 minutes 23 seconds at this location before the scheduled Break at 15.00. Additional monitoring will be undertaken at the next possible date. Road traffic noise from the A692 which had a damp surface was considered to be dominant. Noise from the PC3000 was also audible at this location. 05/11/2018 11:00 48.2 Road traffic noise from the A692 was considered to be the dominant noise source. Noise from the

  • verhead powerlines was also audible. Birds and chickens audible throughout the measurement. The

PC3000 was audible at this location. 19/11/2018 11:53 42.3 Engine noise from the site was audible at times, road traffic noise from the A692 and chickens from Douglas terrace were audible throughout the measurement which has not been coded out as it falls well below the planning condition limit.
