Jesus’ First Words (Luke 2:49) “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be about my Father’s business?”

God the Father’s business is about Saving Sinners

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because:

2 Needs-Based Proclamation of Good News

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because:

He has anointed me to proclaim Good News To the poor He has sent me to proclaim Liberty To captives and recovering sight To the blind to set at liberty Those who are oppressed to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor

“Go and tell John what you hear and

see: the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.”

14 Is any one of you sick? He should

call the elders of the church to pray

• ver him and anoint him with oil in the

name of the Lord.

15 And the prayer offered in faith will

3 Destroying the Work of the Devil

“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.”

Mary had the Holy Spirit to birth something new in and through her, Jesus, the Son of God.
