  18. GATE st students s at Baysi side 2 2018-2019 2019 Currently, we have 85 students in the GATE program at Bayside. We have between 25-33 students in each grade level, which allows for a full class of students in 6 th , 7 th and 8 th grade.

  21. Stud udent nt S Sche hedul ule All GATE Identified students are in GATE Core classes including: ELA (2 periods), Social Studies and Science. PE and Elective classes provide an opportunity to meet other Bayside students

  22. Stud udent nt S Sche hedul ule GATE classes follow the same Common Core Standards found in all classes, but students are encouraged to dive deeper into the curriculum. GATE teachers push students to be creative thinkers and problem solvers through rigorous projects using higher level thinking.

How ev ever … Som e students qualify for the com pacted pathway which includes a rich diversity of students. Invitations to the com pacted pathways are based on a series of District criteria.

  25. How do I I ap apply for G GATE at at Bay ayside? If If your c child ild is is a alr lr eady id identif ifie ied by SM SMFCSD SD as s , January 7 th is the deadline to decide if you GA GATE, want to attend the Bayside GATE program as a 6 th grader. You will receive an email from the District Office with a questionnaire asking if you want to continue GATE at Bayside. Responses are due January 7 th .

  26. How do I I ap apply for G GATE at at Bay ayside? If your child ild is is not ot alr ea eady iden entified ed by SMFC FCSD as GATE, you will need to contact your elementary school office between November 28 th - January 9 th to sign up n up to take the GATE test. The GATE test will be administered on January 14 th or 15 th depending on the school site. Invitations will start going out on January 24 th . Decisions made by February 11 th .
