The UBC Teacher Education Program provides an introduction for teacher candidates who are interested in becoming a Montessori educator. The pathway comprises of:

  • an online Foundations in Montessori Education course(taken in the summer prior to entry)
  • placement in a Montessori classroom during the program (elementary schools)
  • an optional community field experience in a Montessori context

Students interested in pursuing this pathway and gaining initial Montessori experience register in the Primary Years Cohort (KIPP) once admitted to the BEd. Email Claire Rushton claire.rushton@ubc.ca for more information.
