Singapore Society Of Anaesthesiologists (SSA)

SSA is a professional society which is open to every registered medical practitioner engaged in the practice of
anesthesia. SSA welcomes all anaesthesia specialists, trainees, residents, fellows and medical officers to join

them.

Other medical and allied professionals, including medical students, can also join the SSA as Associate Members.

Purpose of SSA:

Promote the art and science of anaesthesia
To uphold the dignity of the practice of anaesthesia
To represent anesthetists and protect and advance their interests
To encourage and promote cooperation and friendship among anesthetists
To promote social, cultural and professional activities amongst members of the society

Geriatric Surgery Society of Singapore (GSSS) The Geriatric Surgery Society of Singapore (GSSS) has been launched in collaboration with the Society for Geriatric Medicine Singapore (SGMS) and other stakeholder organisations for promoting a trans- disciplinary and collaborative model of surgical care in elderly adults. Considering the unique physiological, social and medical needs of elderly surgical patients, GSSS in partnership with local and international experts will strive to create awareness, educate healthcare providers, patients and caregiver by establishing quality standards and outcome measures that matter the most.

Society for Geriatric Medicine Singapore (SGMS)

The practice of Geriatric Medicine was formally introduced in Singapore in 1987 and had started with only a handful of Geriatric Medicine trainees who were sent to Scotland in the late 1980s to learn the intricacies of Geriatric Medicine. The following objectives of SGMS

To promote and maintain standards of Geriatric Medicine and care of the elderly
To promote the development of comprehensive geriatric services
To promote research in Geriatric Medicine and care of the elderly
To promote under-graduate and post-graduate training in Geriatric Medicine
