Year 2 - Mr Noonan
Mr Noonan – Teacher Previously taught in Year 2 Mrs Palmer –Teaching Assistant Many years experience in Year 2. Strong skills in KS1.
We provide the children with all equipment necessary to complete
tasks in the school day. Please NO pencil cases.
Year 2 encourages more independence, please ensure your child’s
belongings are clearly named that they can find them themselves.
Our book bags go in the containers outside the classroom. As space is
limited, please ensure your child’s bag is appropriately sized to bring in essential school belongings. PE bags are stored in the cloakroom.
As the timetable becomes a bit more full in Year 2, it reduces the
amount of time we would have to listen to the children on an individual basis. Please listen to your child read on a regular basis as this skill is used a lot throughout Year 2.
Organise themselves (as independently as possible) during
morning and afternoon.
Be good role models to other children in KS1. Be responsible for their homework and spellings practice. Follow the rules set in the classroom, focussing fully. To be more independent in producing their best quality of work.
Homework – 1 piece of homework each week. This generally
is English or Maths themed, however, we will alternate between some topic work too. Independent completion expected, but support can be given when necessary.
Spellings – To ensure they’ve practised before they sit their
informal test.
