The Early Learning Coalition is moving forward on its goals for
2019.
The ELC Advisory Team identified 4 priorities and will form
workgroups to address the measures and outcomes over the next few months:
Identify and Develop Social/Emotional/Behavioral Health Strategies Address our region’s Infant/Toddler childcare shortage and lack of
- ptions for families who do not qualify for state/federal programs,
but private pay is still too expensive
Re-think the approach to reaching “fringe families” Create a unifying gathering place welcome to all children and
families
At the same time, we are continuing our work with the National
League of Cities to become an Early Learning Community.
Next steps in that initiative include: Completing the Progress Rating Tool Developing an Action Plan around the 4 building blocks:
Commitment, Services, Neighborhoods, and Policies

Sponsorship Policy
Event sponsorship for organizations not currently
receiving Medicaid Demonstration dollars from GCACH
Requests should be between $500 and $5,000
and cannot be the only source of funding for the event
Training Policy
$5,000 to attend training, seminars, or
conferences or bring a trainer to the community
Must submit request at least 1.5 months in advance Should benefit GCACH’s goals, local LHIN goals, and
create long-term value
