Smile Counts! Dental Transformation Initiative to improve utilization and access to care

 Review dental managed care contract requirements and provide

input to DHCS for future contracts with the dental plans

 Meet four times per year with DHCS and two times per year with

Medi-Cal Managed Care Advisory Committee to improve utilization rates per legislation (AB 1467)

 Monitor access to general anesthesia and intravenous sedation to

reduce barriers for beneficiaries

 In partnership with Department of Health Services, provide input

for the Sacramento County Oral Health Program (Prop 56)
