Purpose of Workshop needs of vulnerable Annual Parishes Liaison Event 2014

It is a combination of these three components which can lead to vulnerability and crisis.

  • 1. To help develop a shared understanding of vulnerability and

crisis (Presentation, followed by Exercise 1 - 30 minutes)

  • 2. To maps ways in which Parish and Town Councils can deliver or

facilitate tackling vulnerability (Plenary followed by Exercise 2, 25 minutes)

  • 3. To understand what support Parish and Town Councils require

to be in a better position to help tackle vulnerability (Plenary, 15 minutes)

  • 4. To establish a working group among Parish and Town Council

representatives who are prepared to actively help us establish the support we offer (follow up by e-mail)

Interface between Services and Communities/Individuals (includes Local Area Co-ordination, First Contact and other prevention approaches) Priority 1: Building the capacity of communities (including to use local assets and networks) to enable them to support themselves and vulnerable individuals and families Priority 2: Supporting communities to take over relevant services, including those currently delivered by the Council, and to work alongside us to design and deliver services Priority 3: Developing Voluntary and Community Sector organisations as effective providers in a diverse Leicestershire market and effective commissioning of the sector Individuals take responsibility and help themselves and others
