IN INTRODUCTION  SMCDSB Board Policy LE-27 allows consideration of Community Planning and Partnership opportunities and encourages information sharing with our community partners  SMCDSB’s 2016 LTPAP Report and Accommodation Plans were shared with our Community Partners on September 20, 2016.  The following presentation is being shared as part of our Board’s Annual Meeting in keeping with Community Planning & Partnerships Policy

IN INTRODUCTION Highlights of the Community Planning & Partnerships Policy LE-27  The SMCDSB recognizes and encourages opportunities with various levels of government and community agencies as potential community partners.  The Board shall support community partnerships that align with the Board’s Mission and Vision related to student achievement, well-being and safety.  The Board has sole discretion to identify schools suitable for community partnerships and to determine the eligibility of all potential community partners based on board-determined criteria that is aligned with the Education Act and other relevant directives.  The Long Term Pupil Accommodation Plan (LTPAP) addresses the future facility needs of students, including identification of potential surplus space and / or potential school consolidations.  Sharing information will allow school boards and other entities to work together to the benefit of boards, students and the community and to optimize the use of public assets owned by school boards.  Subsequent staff-level meetings may be held to discuss supplementary information with relevant entities.  All eligible community partnerships shall be on a cost-recovery basis.

  4. IN INTRODUCTION Steps in the Community Planning & Partnerships Opportunities  Identify locations for potential community partnerships and/or co-build opportunities through LTPAP process;  Share LTPAP information through Community Planning and Partnerships Notification Requirements, including Annual Meeting;  Consider Partnership Eligibility Criteria;  Consider Community Partnerships and Co-Build Proposal Review Process (from LE-27); and  Consider Fees and Agreement Requirements

REVIEW AREA ANALYSIS CE01: : A ADJALA-TOSORONTIO, NEW TECUMSETH, , PARTS OF ESSA DESIGNATED SCHOOL SITES: 2 Elementary designated sites * TreeTops / Belterra (Hwy #89 & Sideroad 10) Location * Tottenham Location EDC identifies 1 site for 2023 Both sites have a signed Option Agreement DEMOGRAPHIC INFO: TreeTops Development east of Alliston is proceeding very quickly over the last 3 years Approximately 700 units under various stages of construction Development within Tottenham has picked up in recent years

REVIEW AREA ANALYSIS CE02: : CLEARVIEW COLLINGWOOD WASAGA BEACH & PARTS OF ESSA DESIGNATED SCHOOL SITES: 1 Elementary designated site in the Sunnidale Estates Draft Plan in Wasaga Beach EDC identifies 1 site for 2027 DEMOGRAPHIC INFO: Development occurring in both Collingwood and Wasaga beach which includes a large amount of lifestyle units. The potential for development in Clearview Township exists, however, servicing restrictions and market requirements are causing delays in this growth potential.
