Entity Accreditation

AUB AUB is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Philadelphia USA. AUB degrees are Registered both with the Department of Education of the State of New York and the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education. OSB The Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB) has the AACSB international business accreditation (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). SFEA The Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (SFEA) has the ABET accreditation (the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). FAFS The Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (FAFS) has accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). HSON Hariri School of Nursing (HSON) has the CCNE accreditation (Commission Credentials on Nursing Education). FHS The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) Graduate Public Health Program has the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) accreditation; first received outside of North America. AUBMC AUBMC is the first medical center in Lebanon and the fourth in the world to receive institutional accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education – International (ACGME-I). AUBMC is also the first hospital in the Middle East and among only five percent of US hospitals to receive the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet designation for Nursing and Medical care excellence.

The Student: Creates a Common App account, fills a general section then AUB specific section, invites the school counselor, pays $50 online, then submits the application. Hints:

 Marks successfully completed sections, Only items with * are required

Uses Common App OnTrack mobile app to get status updates and important alerts. AUB: Emails the student acknowledgement receipt (with AUB Application ID# and a list of any missing items) when we process the Common App application and/or follow-up notification when online official school documents are received. The School: Counselor or Teacher receives the student invite(s) and submits the official school documents (ex: Transcripts) online with Common App (Only if not feasible, then it can be delivered in sealed envelope (marked with AUB Application ID#) by postal service or by hand to AUB). Important Steps if accepted

Test Minimum Score

Acceptance This personal email will be issued around the same time that the list of acceptances is updated our website. The acceptance email will include the program/majors to which the student was accepted to. Admission Letter This personal email will be issued at least 1-2 month before the semester starts. It will contain the required official documents that the student needs to submit per the specified deadlines in that email Welcome This general email will be issued at least a month before the start of the semester and will contain information on new student orientation among other important steps that new students need to take.

  • All communication with the student will be done by email.
  • Emails will be sent to the student and to his/her parent/guardian (if available).
  • It is very important to include those 2 email addresses in your application.

Financial Aid: Scholarships and Work Study

  • Merit Scholarship

Each year AUB awards full-tuition merit scholarships to 10 new undergraduates with outstanding academic qualifications.

  • Lebanese Baccalaureate Scholarships

Around 15 full-tuition scholarships to the top 5 of the four tracks

  • f the Lebanese Baccalaureate in conjunction with the National Council

for Scientific Research.

  • Work Study

Students can apply for work study to the office of the Dean

  • f Student Affairs. Students can work a maximum 20 hours per week

and they are paid by the hour.

Financial Aid: Hariri School of Nursing Scholarship

HSON currently offers: 60% (Financial Aid + HSON Scholarship) to financial aid applicants who show commitment to nursing and who have a good academic standing. In addition, students might be eligible to:

  • Request 30% bank loan
  • Apply for the work study program to cover

the remaining 10% of the tuition fees.

  • Master card Foundation Scholarship (MCF) which covers around 20 students

from Lebanon and sub-Saharan Africa. Undergraduates may apply to sophomore

  • r freshman and selection is based on performance in grades 10 and 11 and

financial need. This scholarship also covers tuition for graduate work.

  • Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Program (MEPI) It provides around

23 scholarships to promising, under-served secondary school graduates from the MENA region. The scholarship covers all expenses related to undergraduate study (3-4 years) at AUB (non-engineering majors), including: tuition, health insurance, student fees, housing, books, laptop, annual travel (from-to home country), visa/residency expenses, and monthly living allowance. Students requiring English preparatory work may be enrolled in one or two semesters of college preparatory English classes.

  • Al Ghurair STEM scholarship covers around 100 undergraduate students accepted

in science and engineering majors. Accepted applicants to AUB may apply to this scholarship via the foundation website and they are selected based on their need. This scholarship covers graduate students also.

  • University Scholarship Program (USP) offered by the USAID which

accommodates around 50 public or private school graduates every year (from the different districts across Lebanon). Selection is based on performance in grades 10 and 11, financial need, interviews and tests taken at AUB in addition to the average in the Lebanese Bacc.
