www.planbee.comMany of the foods we associate with the USA became popular ‘fast foods’, or ‘convenience foods’, during the 1950s. America was becoming very prosperous, and people had more money to spend on entertainment and eating out.
Many American families had more money than before the Second World War. They had more money to spend on better kitchens and equipment in their homes. Fast food became more varied and more readily available
stadiums, and even, for the fjrst time, without getting out of their car: drive-through restaurants became popular during this period.

UK MAINLAND USThe Northeast has a temperate climate, similar to the UK. The South is subtropical and humid. The Midwest has a warm, continental climate. Much of the West has a cooler, dryer climate than the regions to the east of it. The west coast, and California in particular, has a Mediterranean climate. The Rocky Mountains have a much colder, dryer, alpine climate than other parts of the West.
The United States is huge! It is almost 40 times the size of the UK. It has many difgerent climate regions. How do you think these diverse climates afgect the food that is grown in America?
