Objectives:

Improve the collection, quantity and quality of U.S. airport source data required to support the timely revisions of aeronautical charts and related databases. Ensure source data is sent to the NFDC in both graphical and textual formats for distribution to chart producers and other users of the NAS.

The Problem:

Disconnect between airport operators & chart producers Current process for airports to communicate airport changes is inefficient and not always followed. Airports need clear guidance to submit changes direct to the NFDC to be data-based and made available to all NAS users. Development of a new process is needed to meet the growing requirement for digital, near real time graphical changes to support EFBs and cockpit displays.
