AQY – technology
- Best in class O3 sensor uses Aeroqual’s gas sensitive semiconductor (GSS) to
rival EPA-approved analysers for sensitivity, stability and selectivity
- NO2 sensor combines patented algorithms with our proprietary O3 sensor to
eliminate cross interferences common to other sensor technologies
- Automatic baseline correction (ABC) modulates between sample and zero flow
conditions to remove diurnal and seasonal temperature and humidity effects
- Light-scattering optical particle sensor combined with algorithms for humidity
and temperature compensation
- 1 part-per-billion (ppb) detection of O3 and NO2 with R2 correlation 0.98 and
0.82 respectively in head to head tests with U.S. EPA reference methods
- Measures and reports data in 1 minute intervals with user selectable averaging
- On-board PC can store 5+ years data, plus Wi-Fi, or 3G/4G connectivity
AQY vs other low cost monitors
- Proprietary ozone sensor technology that is best in class – nearly all other
- zone sensors on the market are cross sensitive to nitrogen dioxide
- Patented technique for removing ozone cross interference on the
electrochemical NO2 sensor (all NO2 sensors on the market are cross sensitive to ozone)
- All measurement is done on the AQY device – many other devices rely on data
processing in the cloud before outputting a measurement
- More than 5 years’ data storage on the device, allowing for fail-safe back-up
- Aeroqual Cloud is used for data acquisition and display and remote diagnostics.
Software is bundled with the instrument providing a complete product package.
- Product is backed by a decade of field experience deploying and supporting
sensor-based instruments in a wide range of outdoor ambient applications
Aeroqual Connect and Cloud are easy to use and keep your data secure via 256-bit SSL encryption Manage data, instruments and diagnostics conveniently from anywhere in the world Set up your FTP, SMS/email alerts, calibration and service for single instruments or networks Plot and download data in real- time or historical sets by user selectable averaging periods Advanced charts features network view and lets you combine data sets and annotate for reports Use the wind and pollution rose charts in Aeroqual Plus to present professional AQ reports
AQY – software
AQY – data traceability
Factory calibration is NIST traceable to Standard Reference Materials (SRM) including certified calibration gas mixtures and NATA accredited calibration sources Optional field calibration is performed by co-locating the AQY with a FRM/FEM monitoring station and applying a gain or offset to the AQY in the configuration software
AQY – support
Purchase of an instrument from Aeroqual is the start of an ongoing relationship that connects you 24/7 wherever you are From our support centre in Auckland, New Zealand we can monitor instrument health, advise, diagnose, schedule service Aeroqual has an authorised service centre near you, currently serving our clients in more than 50 countries
- 100 AQY devices deployed
across Los Angeles in partnership with South Coast Air Quality Management District.
- First 25 units have been

patterns in the region.
Los Angeles AQY network
- AQY units measuring O3,
NO2 and PM2.5 were installed at the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s Rubidoux air monitoring station.
