What is SOLIDAR?

A European network of NGOs 53 member organisations based in 25

countries, 20 of which are in the EU.

Our members are national organisations

working in one or all of our areas of activity.

  • Created in 1948 under the name International

Workers’ Aid (IWA)

  • IWA changed its name to SOLIDAR in 1995 when it

moved to Brussels

  • SOLIDAR celebrated its 60th Anniversary in 2008.

This project aims to demonstrate that a more social Europe is necessary for a socially sustainable and cohesive Europe, by highlighting SOLIDAR members experiences of working with socially and economically disadvantaged people and putting forward proposals to EU and national decision makers.

Decent Work for all – a key for effective Industrial Relations

With the increasing precarity of labour markets (in-work poverty, part-time

  • r short-term contracts), this project seeks to broaden the knowledge

base on legal developments and practices at local, regional, national and European level that might risk weakening working conditions and social dialogue.
