Purpose of today’s webinar

Ø the ADHA’s Secure Messaging Industry Offer (SMIO) requires that vendors

undergo testing of their software

Ø the ADHA has now produced documents that describe those tests in detail Ø today we will review the proposed tests together

The goal of today's session is to explain the proposed tests. Y

  • u will then be in a position to discuss them with your team and provide feedback

to the ADHA on the proposed testing regime.

New documents- the "T esting T emplates"

Appendix A of the T ester Guide provided high- level descriptions of the SMIO tests. There are now two new documents - the "T esting T emplates":

  • 1. SM vendor - T

esting T emplate - gives detail on proposed tests for SM systems

  • 2. CIS

vendor - T esting T emplate - gives detail on proposed tests for CIS T

  • day we will be reviewing the T

esting T emplate relevant to your organisation.

Time limitations- relevance limitations

At today's session we will not be able to deep-dive into:

Ø the Australian T

echnical Standards (ATS-5822/ 1/0) that underlie the solution architecture

Ø capabilities and design of the FHIR-based directories Ø technical topics such as encryption, digital signatures, asynchronous messaging, etc.

We will need to keep today's session relatively high level and relevant to all meeting participants. We will also not be covering tests related to:

Ø API-key and SMART on FHIR-based authentication (both now deprecated)

Review - the 3 goals of the current SMIO...

The goals of the current Secure Messaging Industry Offer 1. Ensure we can create messages that can understood by all parties (HL7 messages by CIS , S MD messages by SM systems). 2. Ensure the new FHIR-based directories can be used to find recipients and retrieve recipient information to support secure messaging. 3. T

  • ready vendors to work with NAS

H-related changes. The SMIO tests are related only to these goals of the SMIO. For example, there are no "end-to-end" send/receive tests.

SMIO testing....we are here to help!

The aim of the testing process...

Ø the ADHA's SMIO testing goal is to create tests that are reasonable, valuable and provide

genuine assistance to vendors in assessing product readiness.

Ø our proposed tests may be adjusted as needed to achieve this goal. Ø ADHA will provide a “Clinical Package Validator tool” (CPV tool), a testing utility that will

make testing easier.

Let's work together to make the SMIO testing process valuable and helpful.
