WHY A SHARE NETWORK?

Choosing to receive resettled refugees is a national government decision, but the success of national resettlement programmes depends on regional and local actors:

  • making places available for resettled refugees in local

communities;

  • providing reception and integration support that meets the needs
  • f resettled refugees; and
  • creating welcoming local communities in which resettled refugees

can settle and thrive.

The SHARE Network therefore:

  • provides a platform for peer learning and best practice exchange between local and regional

resettlement/integration actors in Europe;

  • facilitates exchange of experience between local/regional actors in experienced resettlement

countries, and those planning or considering resettlement; and

  • ensures the inclusion of local and regional actors in the wider European Resettlement Network.
