TALKING POINTS Students selecting a music class must commit to music for the full school year – students receive letter grades, practice logs and lessons are required Video Productions requires an application- limited enrollment Selecting your electives does not guarantee you will be scheduled for them- but we will do our best As an 8 th grader you will have similar elective opportunities Electives are graded (not S/U)

  6. What happens next… -Get the Registration Form and application for video productions if you intend to take that elective -View the Electives Video again with your parent/guardian and talk over your elective choices (you will find the video on the Ellis and Holton Websites)

  7. At IJ Holton -Attend conferences with your parent/guardian on one of these dates: February 11 th , 12 th or 17th -Receive your actual registration form (Pink) -You and your parent/guardian must select electives and turn in your Registration Form to the IJ Holton Office Registration Forms must be returned by February 19th If we don’t receive it, we choose electives for you.

  8. March : • The end of 3 rd quarter report cards will be mailed out during the first part of April (following Spring Break) • Course verification sheet listing all of the classes you were recommended for and your elective choices will be sent with the report card • Y ou will have one week to review the course verification sheet and parents can advocate for any core course changes • In the event that you would like to discuss a change, contact: Mrs. Norby or Mrs. Cabeen at Ellis Middle School
