XIth Plan Achievements

  • All States/UTs except Chhattisgarh and Dadra &

Nagar Haveli achieved elimination i.e. less than 1 case per 10,000 population.

  • 542 out of approximately 640 districts have achieved

elimination.

  • Annual New Case Detection Rate (ANCDR) came

down to 10.35 per 1,00,000 population from 12.7 in 2006-07.

  • No complacency: surveillance necessary.
  • To achieve elimination in high endemic districts.
  • To achieve elimination in additional districts, if

identified during 12

th Plan period.

  • To prevent Gr.II disability by 35% amongst new cases

i.e. from 3865 in March 2012 to 2512 by March 2017, by early detection & treatment.
