Calculating Grade Points & Deficits

  • Good Standing:
  • Academic Warning:
  • a semester GPA less than 2.00, but cumulative and major GPA 2.00 or above
  • Probation:
  • Major and/or Cumulative GPA less than 2.00
  • Grade point deficit between -1 and -7
  • Removal:
  • Two consecutive warnings (two semesters with GPA below 2.00)
  • -8 (or worse) grade deficit – either cumulative or in major courses
  • Failure to meet terms of probation from previous semester
  • Students can be removed from the College and/or TAMU after one semester!!!
  • 2.0 each semester
  • 2.0 cumulative
  • 2.0 in courses for you
