Physical Education (Formerly Individual Fitness) #6000 Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12 1 Semester/1 Credit This is a course designed for students to put MYP Principles into practice. In addition to units such as Invasive Games, Net Games and Fitness Testing, students will learn strength and conditioning exercises to improve their physical fitness. Students will design SMART goals based on data from fitness assessments and monitor and track their progress throughout the course.

Film Studies # 7403 Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12 1 Semester/1 credit This course introduces students to the study and analysis of films from a variety of eras, genres, and

  • nationalities. Additionally, students will be

introduced to academic terminology within film and focus on the specific processes that occur during the pre production, production, and post production stages of filmmaking. While students will view several feature films from variety of diverse backgrounds, students will spend the bulk of the course learning how to create analytical essays, scripts, storyboards, lighting diagrams, sound compositions, and short films. The course is intended for students who may be interested in continuing on to the IB DP Film course in 11th and 12th grade in the Diploma or Career Programme, and IB –style models and grading will be used in the class.

  • applications. In this class, students will learn to

safely utilize different tools and safety fear. There will be required small projects to demonstrate proficiency in concrete , framing, wiring , plumbing, insulation, and finish work. Then students will complete a project in a group or individually demonstrating all these skills in a finished unit. The fee, if any will be determined on personal projects based on current material prices.

Woods, Construction Finishing II # 2402 Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12 1 Semester/1 Credit; *Prerequisite: Woods, Construction Finishing I Fee: TBA This is a one semester class that will focus on larger woodworking projects and/or furniture. In this class, students will learn to safely operate the many different pieces of woodworking equipment. This class is for students interested in a more advanced study of woodworking and for students who can work independently on these larger

  • projects. They will be required to find plans for their

project(s). The fee for this class will be based on the materials used for the project at the current wood price.
